The speaker become so angry with the raven because he is dealing with the loss of his lover Lenore and the negatives responses of the raven drives the speaker into despair.

The bird's says - Nevermore- to create a continuous cycle in which the man must deal with his loss and that is a tragedy because the cycle will never be broken.
