Phyllis McAlpin Schlafly was an American institutional lawyer and a known conservative that created a movement called "Stop Equal Rights Amendment". She was afraid that the Equal Rights Amendment could cause some laws that were specifically designed to protect women to disappear completely due the nature of the Amendment.
