The current on the Mississippi River is a constant 4 miles per hour. A paddleboat travels 48 miles upstream in the same amount of time that it takes to travel 72 miles downstream. Find the speed of the boat in still water.

Divide each mile amount by the speed of the current (48/4=12 and 72/4=18) add the two numbers (12+18=30)  The speed of the boat is 30mph
