A haploid cell has half the total number of chromosomes, so the animal, which has mostly diploid cells, would have 16 chromosomes.

It would have to come from a animal that has "16" chromosomes or the fourth option. When a person or animal reproduces to make a baby that would half the amount of chromosomes half from his/her mother, half from his/her father. In this case it would come from a animal that has 16 chromosomes since how tyou have to split the amount to get 8.

Hope this helps!
