2(2x^2-3) -5
4x^2 - 6 - 5
4x^2 - 11

g(x) = 2x - 5
If you had to evaluate g(3)
You would substitute 3 in for the x and simplify. Instead of substituting a single number you are substituting the binomial
2x^2 -3 and then simplifying. I hope you understand.
