In Achebe’s Things Fall Apart, the Igbo people live in a patriarchal society; accordingly, ALL PROPERTY AND AUTHORITY BELONG TO MEN.

Patriarchal society is a society where men exert dominance over their women and children. They are the ones who make decisions that affects everyone in the family.
