A game of basketball is played with two teams of five players each. The aim of the game is to score points by shooting the ball into the opponent's hoop. If a team does not have the required number of players on the court during the game, it will have to forfeit the game. As in other games, breaking certain rules in basketball results in penalties. In the end, the team that has the most points is declared the winner.

forfeit = to lose as a result of breach of rules. Here, the breach of rules would be not having enough players.
