So.... First find Area of the whole rectangle...

L=22+17=39cm
W=15+5=20cm

A=20*39
=780cm^2

Then find the areas of the two small spaces and subtract from the whole are.

A=9*5=45cm^2
A=17*5=85cm^2

45+85= 130cm^2

Then subtract:

780cm^2-130cm^2= 650cm^2

Answer: 650cm^2
