Gandhi encouraged the Indians to weave their own clothes as part of the movement called Khadi.

Explanation:

During the 1920's Gandhi promoted the used of handwoven clothes in to fight against the high prices of British fabrics and British yarn, the biggest companies and businessmen wanted to monopolize the market of fabric and they were giving a very expensive and low-quality product, the movement against this got more fair prices and more opportunities for the locals.
