Explain how the number of pieces in a whole relates to the size of each piece

Let's take 1/3 as an example. The number of pieces in a whole are all thirds. Each piece has equal parts. 1/3+1/3+1/3=3/3 which equals 1. All the parts are equals because they all add up to 1 whole. Hope this was helpful!!

The more pieces there are in a whole, the smaller the size of those pieces are.
