There are several criticisms that you could make of suburban areas during this time period. One of the most prominent ones is that they were very uniform. In the suburbs, there was little variety in the composition of the population. Most of the inhabitants were of white, Anglo-saxon descent. This led to another problem. As the white population moved away from the cities, the minorities remained, which caused cities to become segregated.
