to solve the problem is subtract the volume of the sphere from the volume of the cone.
volume of sphere = (4/3) *pi *r^3volume of sphere = (4/3) (3.14) (1.5^3)volume of the spere = 14.13 cu. ft.
volume of cone = (1/3) *pi *h *r^2volume of cone = (1/3) (3.14) (6) (3^2)volume of cone = 61.2
volume of shaded part = 61.2 - 14.13
volume of shaded part = 47.07 cu ft
