For resistance to slavery, the most common was in the workplace because slavery involved coerced labor. If slave masters increased the slaves workloads, did not provide enough food or water, or punished the slaves too severely, slaves would show their displeasure by slowing work, breaking work tools, sabotaging work, or by faking illness. These were everyday forms of resistance, however, there was little the owners could do because in the end, production would suffer.
