Gas burning on a stove in and of itself is not a chemical change, but if it goes from not burning to burning, then yes it can be a chemical change. The flamibility of something is that of a chemical property. A chemical change is also known as a chemical reaction. So the stove has a chemical reaction when you turn it on causing the flame.
