A perceptual region is defined by human feelings and attitudes about an area and therefore, by people's shared subjective images of that area. These regions are also called vernacular regions. The perceptual region is based on subjective perceptions about some characteristics of the place. Examples is Bible Belt, which is region characterized with strongly religious people and with many churches.
