Gas Mileage= 49 miles per gallon
Explanation- You have to divide the number of miles (490) by the amount of gallons used (10).
490 divided by 10 equals 49

First question= 2,205 miles
Explanation- Once you know what the unit rate (gas mileage) is then you can just multiply the amount of miles on 1 gallon by 45 gallons.
49 multiplied by 45 equals 2,205

Since it could drive 49 miles on 1 gallon, and this is also it's gas mileage, (because 490/10=49) it could drive 45 times more on 45 gallons than on one. So, we multiply 45 by 49 to get 2209 gallons on 45 gallons of gas.
