Why is setting important? What does the setting tell us about the story? about the characters? about the plot? In your own work, how does setting figure into the picture? What limitations can a setting impose on the characters in the story and the writer?

The setting tells what place the story takes place in. The setting also can tell where the characters stay and where they are from.
