Use the quadratic formula
x = [--1 +- sq root(1 (-4*6*-1))] / 2*6
x = [ 1 + sqroot (25)] / 12
x1 = 6 /12 = .5

x = [ 1 - sqroot (25)] / 12
x = (1 -5) / 12
x = -4 / 12
x2 = -.33333333333333
