Explain how abnormal meiosis may lead to the genetic disorder of down's syndrome?

Abnormal meiosis can lead to trisomy 21 or Down's syndrome. This is when there is a third copy of a chromosome 21. This can happen during nondisjunction when the pairs chromosomes are being switched around ding meiosis. I hope this helps!
