1/4 as a decimal is 0.25
whereas
1/6 as a decimal is 0.16
This means that 1/4 will be bigger than 1/6
Hope this helps!

1/4 is greater because 1/6 is split into smaller pieces. So if you only shade in one piece of each there would be no way they could be equivalent. You would only be shading In one piece so since 1/6 is smaller 1/4 would be greater.
