Why are Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean called "Latin America"?

This is because some people speak Spanish, Portuguese, and French in these american countries. That is why these countries are called Latin America.

Because the people in these places all speak Spanish, and the explorers that came into the Latin America are fro Europe, where Latin was the predominant language
