How did animism affect people's views about nature?

Although views on afterlife vary, animists usually believe in the possibility of contacting the spirits of the departed.

The religious belief that places, objects, and creatures have a spiritual essence is called Animism. In animism, all things including human handiwork, plants, rocks, and animals are considered to be animated and alive. It is also used in the anthropology of religion. In animism, there is a belief that material phenomenon have organization and there is no distinction between the physical and spiritual world and also that all living being including animals, plants, rocks have spirit. It believes in the existence of good and bad souls, incarnations and spells are used to ward off evil spirits and also for inviting the company of good ones. Animists also believe in reincarnations. Ancient Greek religions were also animistic.
