What do you think the world powers might have done differently at the end of World War II to avoid the Cold War?

The world powers could have let each other mind their own business in their immediate vicinity. While the US wanted to prevent Eastern countries from adopting communism, the USSR wanted to prevent the US from spreading capitalism. If everyone minded their own business on their own hemisphere or continent, none of it would have happened.
