How does the momentum of a dog and a horse, which are both running at the same velocity, compare?

Answer: The momentum of horse will be more than the momentum of dog.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the momentum of dog and horse be
P_d and
P_h

Mass of the dog =
M_d

Mass of the horse =
M_h

Given that velocity with which dog is running is equal to the velocity with which horse is running.


V_d=V_h=V


Momentum=\text{mass of the body}* \text{velocity of body}=P=MV


P_d=M_d* V..(1)


P_h=M_h* V..(2)

From (1) and(2) we can say that
P_d<P_h

Since,the mass of horse is larger than the mass of the dog the momentum of the horse will be more than the momentum of the dog.
