A small cell has a large Surface are/volume ratio and therefore can exchange molecules with it's external environment rapidly.

Here, we can see the ratio is 6:1, which is very large ratio, so it will transport very rapidly. Thus, it denotes that cell can easily get the material it needs that move across it's surface

Hope this helps!
