The real answer to this question is A.The Aztecs centralized government while the Maya maintained city states with their own rulers. The Aztecs and the Maya had a lot of similarities but had very different ways of ruling. The Aztecs had a monarchy and a centralized government that was found in Tenochtitlan, while the Mayas were ruled by their priest, every Mayan city had a Priest that ruled it.
