okay, so you have -72+7x=53+2x
what you would do is use the subtraction property and subtract 2x from both sides.
-72+7x=53+2x
-2x -2x
----------------------
-72+5x=53
so now, add -72 to both sides to cancel it out so you can then use the division property.
-72+5x=53
+72 +72
-----------------
5x=125
now divide 5x on both sides to find the variable, x.
5x=125
---- -----
5x 5x
5x divided by 5x is 0, so it's cancelled out. 125 divided by 5x would be 25. therefore, x=25. i'm not that good at explaining it, but i know how to do the math. hope i helped! ❤️
