With multiple choice questions, I find it best to plug in on this one.
For a) x=2 and y=1 so, plug it into the equation.
1) -2(2) + 5(1) = 8 and than you check the other one
2) 2(2) + 2(1) = 6 if it works in both than that is your answer. If not than you try another choice until you get one that works in both equations.
