In the reaction between bromine and sodium, a bromine atom gains an electron. What ion is formed? Is the bromine oxidized, or is it reduced?

Thank You ^_^

Reaction: Na + Br → Na⁺Br⁻

Ion formed = Br⁻

As bromine is gaining an electron here, it is "Reduced"

Hope this helps!
