Jackie's dogs are play fighting with their toys. They have a total of 10 toys, 5 of which are red. Jackie sees one of her dogs has a red toy in its mouth. If the other dog has a toy in its mouth as well, what is the chance that the toy is red?

It doesn't matter how many dogs there are.

5 toys are red

there are 10 toys 5/10 = 50%

10 toys. 5 are red, 5 are another color.

One already has a red toy, so there are 4 red toys left.

You know that 1 is already red, so you can take that out of the total number of toys, so there are 9 toys remaining and 4 of them are red, 4/9 or .44
