Describe the water conditions that would cause the most competition between three species

Drought would be one. Another would be if the watering hole was between three species territory in the middle in which they would fight. Another way would be if the more dominant species pushed its way into another persons territorty.

An example of this competition is when there are 3 species of plants that with their roots suck the water from the ground freatic level, those that have longer and more effective roots can survive.
