The shaded area will be given by:
A=(area of the outer circle)-(area of the inner circle)
area of outer circle:
A=πr²
A=π(2x)²=4x²π

Area of the inner circle:
A=π×6²=36π
Thus the shaded area will be:
4x²π-36π=364π
4x²π=400π
4x²=400
x²=100
x=√100
x=10 cm
