each ground tissue has its own specific function but parenchyma is responsible for photosynthesis.

Ground function: a function in photosynthesis and nutrient storage. Most are chloroplasts that have thin walls and have large large vacuoles.
Interesting fact: these form the mass of most leaves, stems, and roots.
