1000 mg = 1 g
the prefix "milli" means "thousandth", which is why there are 1000 mg in one gram

Use that equation above as the conversion factor
3500 mg = (3500 mg)*(1 g/1000 mg) = (3500/1000) g = 3.5 g

So in short,
3500 mg = 3.5 g

Answer: 3.5
