If the mean is 5 the deviation from the mean at 7 is 7-5=2

We know that the definition of the Absolute Deviation, d at a data point is the absolute value of the difference of the value of the data point, v and the mean for the data set, m.

Thus,
d=\left | v-m \right |

In our case, v=7 and m=5

Therefore,
d=\left | 7-5 \right |=2

therefore, the Absolute Deviation is as asked in the question is 2
