The biggest area of disagreement between Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X was the benefits of relying only on civil disobedience.

In addition to this, Martin Luther King believed that people should peacefully fight for their equality, whereas Malcolm X supported extremism and violence in the struggle for equal rights.

For Luther King, the democracy and the voting represented a solution while for Malcom X, violence was needed.
