Parasomnias is the correct term for the group of sleep disturbances in which behaviors and physiological states that normally occur only in the waking state, take place during sleep. Dyssomnias on the other hand is the scientific term for the sleep disorder in which a person talks in his/her sleep. The parasomnias disorders that may occur during arousals from rapid eye movement sleep or arousals from non-rapid eye movement sleep.
