D)

Biomass is a Renewable source of energy that is derived from organic matter such as wood, crop waste, and garbage. Wood is the largest Biomass energy source. There are currently 227 biomass plants operating. Although Biomass has been flagged as a renewable energy source it does release carbon emissions. It still is considered "Renewable" due to the fact that the materials used can be regrown and replaced.

The correct answer is D. It uses a renewable source

Step-by-step explanation:

Biomass fuel refers to a type of fuel or combustible that is derived from plants or animals, for example, wood, corn or manure. These type of fuel is considered to be better for the environment than gasoline and regular fuels, this can be explained as gasoline derives from petroleum that is a non-renewable source, also the extraction of petroleum leads to damages in the environment and its use causes the emission of CO2 and other nocive substances. On the other hand, biomass fuel derives from renewable sources, for example, plants can be replaced in a short time, also, these emit fewer pollutants. According to this, it can be concluded biomass fuel instead of gasoline help conserve natural resources as biomass fuel uses a renewable source (option d).
