The zionist movement was the movement for a separate Jewish state due to a rabid outbreak of anti semitism. The Balfour Declaration 1917 was a promise from the British PM Balfour that there would be a separate Jewish state somewhere in Palestine.

What is the connection between the Zionist movement and the Balfour declaration?
