Total number of people in the department = 6 + 8 + 14 + 7 = 35
Total males = 6 + 14 = 20
Total female professor = 8
Total males or professor = 20 + 8 = 28

P(\text {male or professor}) = (28)/(35) = (4)/(5)

\boxed {\boxed {\text {Answer: P(male or professor) = }(4)/(5) }}
