The himalayas affect development of culture in south and east Asia by being protection. Most people would not dare cross the mountains to attack the civilizations on the other side.

Answer:

The Hind Kush is a mountain range which stretches from Afghanistan to China. Hind Kush and Himalayan ranges are significant to the fact that they are called the homes of gods. They have shaped the climate of India by preventing it from cold winds from the North. These mountains have protected India from foreign invasion and thus for most of the ancient times, its culture developed unaffected by the rest of Asia.
