Simplify means to combine as many like terms together as possible so the expression is simpler.

-5(2w+1) - 3(-4w+2)

multiply -5 by all terms in left parentheses; multiply -3 by all terms in right parentheses

(-5*2w) + (-5*1) + (-3*-4w) + (-3*2)

-10w - 5 + 12w - 6

combine like terms

2w - 11

ANSWER: 2w - 11

Hope this helps! :)

2w - 11.

To solve this, first, distribute the constants outside of the parenthesis. Remember the symbols! Since both have a - sign in front, whatever they effect will change. Positives will change to negatives and negatives will change to positives.

After that step, combine like terms and you get your answer.

Hope this helps!
