The answer would be retina.

The retina is a part of the eyeball that contains photoreceptors, the neuronal cells that can detect the light. There is cone receptor that could detect color and rod receptor that only detect light(black and white). It also has a pigmented cell in the furthermost layer to prevent the light reflection become reabsorbed.
