Some arctic species like the arctic fox (pictured above) grow white fur only in winter. In summer, it is a brown color. What explanation best describes why animals like the arctic fox have this seasonal response in order to survive

Many animals, like the arctic fox, adapt to their surroundings. When there is snow, the arctic fox have white fur to blend in to their white environment--this helps them catch their prey and also avoid predators. The same thing happens in the summer, when they have brown fur.
