A process called "pragmatics" involves understanding how to use language in culturally appropriate ways.

Pragmatics refers to the investigation of the utilization of phonetic signs, words and sentences, in genuine circumstances. It is the branch of linguistics managing dialect being used and the settings in which it is utilized, including such issues as deixis, the taking of turns in discussion, content association etc.
