The three substance introduced in the Calvin cycle to produce sugar molecules are ATP, NADPH, carbon dioxide. The primary function of the calvin cycle is to make organic products to suit the plant needs, using the products from the light reactions of photosynthesis, that is the NADPH and ATP. In the first stage carbon dioxide is fixed from an inorganic to organic molecule, in the second stage ATP and NADPH are used to reduce 3-PGA into G3P, and them converted to ADP and NADP+.
