How to add fractions with different denominators khan academy?

You have to find the LCD with the two fractions. Then you add the numarator an the denominator of the fraction.

you have to find the least common denominator between the two fractions. if you had 1/2 + 1/4 then the lcd is 4 so you multiply both the top and the bottom by 4. you get 2/4+ 1/4. Then you add across the top and get 3/4.
