A population of moose lived on an island in Lake Superior. There were no wolves on the island

and many of the moose starved. In the absence of predators, the size of the moose population
increased unchecked. Food became a limiting factor. Later on, the lake froze over and wolves
walked across the frozen lake to the island. What effect has the introduction of wolves probably
had on the moose population?
A. The moose population has increased exponentially since wolves invaded the island.
B. The moose population has remained stable at a point closer to the carrying capacity.
C. The moose population continues in the same pattern because wolves are not predators of
moose.
D. The moose population had to compete with the wolves for herbaceous food.

D is what most likely happened because the Moose population would theoretically decrease because Wolves are a predator of the Moose population. Moose population would not stay the same, or increase, it would decrease.
