Putin is a very interesting and pragmatic leader, that showed incredible results in making Russia return step by step on the global scene, and make it an important factor in world politics. He did lots of things, that in many ways are similar to the socialist period of USSR, but also with elements of capitalism, in a way similar to China. He made sure to make the police and military his loyal servants, strengthened the nationalistic core, used foreign offensive politics to strengthen his position and create an image of savior, brought under control the problematic regions that wanted to separate, put under control the oligarchs, invested in military and the industries that are most important, and also made Russia an agriculture super power by focusing on few crops and investing in them which caused enormous increase in income, made alliances with one of the biggest economies in the world and thus securing the market for it's own natural resources.
