Increase or mice and birds would work also. Overpopulation of birds and mice that is! Removing grass is an option too. If snakes dies that would do it to actually !

Grasses are Producers.
Mice and Grasshoppers are Primary Consumers.
Snakes and Birds are Secondary Consumers.

Removing grasses would significantly decrease the grasshopper population since they would have less food and start dying out due to starvation.
